Master Your Mind

In this video, Jay, a therapist and neuroscientist, explains how to respond to phrases that make you “the problem,” such as “you’re overreacting.” He teaches a simple three-step approach: don’t argue with the label, redirect the conversation back to the real issue, and then stop there. The key takeaway is to notice when a discussion shifts from the event itself to your reaction, and to calmly switch it back. You do not need someone else’s approval of your feelings before raising something important. The video offers practical examples and encourages viewers to use this strategy in real conversations.
