Copyright Claims

Playhuman respects the intellectual property of others and expects everyone using the Services to do the same. If you believe content hosted on Playhuman may infringe a copyright you own or control, you can send us a takedown notice using the form on this page.

We respond to properly submitted notices under the EU Copyright Directive and equivalent UK law. Repeat infringers may lose access to the Services under our repeat infringement policy.

A takedown notice is a legal statement. Please check the following before submitting. It saves everyone time and reduces the risk of an invalid claim.

• You own the copyright in the work, or you are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
• The use is not permitted by a licence, fair use, fair dealing, or another exception.
• Your complaint is about copyright, not trademarks, privacy, defamation or harassment. For those, use Safety or Contact.
• You have the exact URL of each item you are reporting. We cannot act on a whole channel or a search result page.

To be actionable, a notice must contain all of the following. The form below collects each element.

• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
• The specific URL(s) on Playhuman of the allegedly infringing material.
• Your full legal name, postal address, email address and telephone number.
• A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

Incomplete notices may be rejected. Knowingly filing a false claim can expose you to liability for damages, including costs and legal fees.

4.1 Review

Our Trust & Safety team acknowledges valid notices within 2 business days and aims to complete review within 5 business days. Complex or high-volume claims can take longer.

4.2 Removal

If the notice is valid, we will remove or disable access to the reported material and notify the uploader, passing on the substance of your notice, including your name and the details of the claim.

4.3 Strikes

The uploader receives a copyright strike. Strikes affect monetisation, distribution and account standing, and expire after 90 days where no further strikes are issued.

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to copyright@playhuman.com. It must include:

• Your name, address, phone number and email address.
• Identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal.
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
• Consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you are located, and consent to accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

We forward valid counter-notices to the original claimant. If they do not notify us of legal action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the material.

Accounts that accumulate three valid copyright strikes within a rolling 12-month period are terminated, along with any associated channels, storefronts and pending payouts tied to the infringing content. Attempting to evade termination by creating a new account is a material breach of our Terms of Service.

We monitor for abusive claiming, using takedowns to suppress criticism, competitors or lawful commentary. We reject bad-faith notices, and we may restrict the ability of persistent abusers to file further claims.
